We all love to travel, get active and hit the mountains for some fun, but what we can’t stand is the heavy gear. More and more of us are trying to go lightweight and the market has been attempting to find an answer.

That’s why Blue Ice has created the Dragonfly (RRP £40), a lightweight and versatile 18-litre rucksack that is designed for minimalist climbers and hikers. Here’s everything you need to know.

Weighing just 325g, the Dragonfly is said to feature highly breathable shoulder straps, a removable hip belt and sternum strap and a removable foam back panel. By removing these elements, the most minimalist of climbers can reduce bulk and weight even more.

Blue Ice claim you’ll barely notice that you are carrying the pack and even when you don’t need to use it, the Dragonfly can be folded away into its own pocket making it easy to store while travelling.

A small zippered pocket has been included to allow safe storage of smaller items while the versatile daisy chain system is designed to carry a pair of collapsible ski poles or other larger gear.

The Dragonfly also features a streamlined rope carrying system and is hydration bladder compatible. It is constructed out of 420 den rip-stop Cordura with a polyurethane coating and DWR finish.
