The Caucasus 600 is the first of four down sleeping bags we have in this review and, although prices are getting higher, at £169.99 it’s good value for a down bag. Robens’ camping kit has a good reputation in the Adventure Travel office – we’ve found that if you want quality kit at reasonable prices, Robens is a good place to start looking.
The most attractive features of the Caucasus 600 are its weight and pack size. Once compressed it fits nicely into a rucksack and the stuff sack is excellent – it’s fully waterproof with taped seams. The temperature rating will cover you for all but the coldest three-season adventures and you’d get away with using it over winter in milder countries. You also get internal pockets for stashing valuables, adjustable neck and face baffles and an almost full-length zip for ventilation. Plus there’s an ergonomic foot bed and an anti-snag zip guard that actually works. An excellent bag for the price.
